Rosa "Sai" Salangsang

Mr. Sketchyman was wandering a suburban street one night when he encountered something, or rather, someone very familiar.

This video was part of the series of stories titled, "Stories of Friends Made". This particular story is about my cryptid character, Mr. Sketchyman. Mr. Sketchy man is a living sketch who tends to wander aimlessly in suburban areas. You'll know he's close when you catch a strong scent of pencil shavings. Similar to the last two Mr. Sketchyman artworks, the characters in this video were hand-drawn in a sketchbook. They were imported to my computer to be cropped and editted. I filmed at a suburban neighborhood at night because I wanted a spooky atmosphere for this story. I took that even further by experiementing with noise effects until I got a look that is reminiscent of old security camera footage. The drawings were given simple and choppy animations to make them appear somewhat like ghosts. Finally, the background static was made by importing one of the Mr. Sketchyman drawings as raw data to Audacity.
