Fairytale Supper
Programs Used: Blender and Polycam
Come along to an enchanted forest. Have some tea and miso soup while you
watch the fireflies fly by.
This piece served as my introduction to photogrammetry. Immediately
after downloading Polycam onto my phone, I knew that I had to scan one
or two of my plushes from my growing collection. Although it took many
trials and errors, I eventually understood the necessary techniques
needed to make a decent digital duplicate of my plushes. The bowl of
miso soup and cup of thai tea was my lunch and I scanned them on a whim.
With what I have scanned so far, I knew what environment I wanted for
these models. So, I picked out an unusual-looking tree near the student
union at San Jose State University and scanned a part of it and the
ground surrounding it. Finally, I reduced the polygon count of all the
scanned models and put them together with some point lights for
fireflies.
If you're an avid plushe collector, like me, you can get the plushies
displayed in this art piece. The axolotl is a mini squishmallow released
a few years ago and may be tricky to find. But, the cat and mushroom
hybrid shouldn't be hard to find! It is called a mewshroom and you can
get your own from an artist known as
Stitchmind! Have a
fun time collecting adorable plushes!
