Terra-Grade
Programs Used: Blender
Decades into the future, global warming and climate change has reached
catastropic levels beyond repair. As a result, many species of plants
started to go extinct. Oxygen levels were being depleted and soon
animals start to go extinct. Although humanity has resources saved,
including oxygen, food, and water, they were owned by greedy cooporate
officials. They were willing to give away these resources, but at high
prices. Many people died because they couldn't afford the necessities
for survival. With the human population rapidly declining, there was
hardly anyone left to buy resources. Soon, civilizations collapsed due
to these economic and enviromental failures and humans nearly went
extinct. The thousands of remaining humans fled to space with the
resources they managed to save. Thousands of years later, humans
returned to Earth to find that vegetation has been florishing.
Cautiously, they sent teams of researchers in ships called,
Terra-Grades, to determine the habitability of Earth.
The Terra-Grades are modeled after the microanimal Tardigrades,
affecionately known as waterbears. They are mobile laboratories for the
researchers of Earth biology. Kept afloat with anti-gravity technology,
they slowly move around the Earth. The claw-like anteneae at their
"paws" are used to collect air, soil, and water samples so that
scientists can determine if the environment is sustainable to humans or
not.
This ship was modeled entirely on Blender. For the colors, I mostly
choose earth tones to represent it's purpose as a Earth research
vehicle. I choose the waterbear as the inspiration for this ship due to
its role as a pioneer species. In this universe, the humans are
reintroduced to Earth after thousands of years away. Does this mean I
better future for the planet or will history repeat itself?
